Jeremy Lusk Crash at X-Nights Costa Rica - Please pray
Posted on February 8th, 2009 by BattlezFMX Everyone please pray for Jeremy Lusk. He had a massive crash in Costa Rica X-Knights tonight. Here is the video of the crash: Jeremy Lusk Crash Please keep him and his family in your prayers. We will try and keep you updated here. Family is en route to Costa Rica right now.Much love from the Battlex FMX family. Jeremy will get through this, he is strong. **Update what we have heard so far as of 8am PST 2/8/09: -He made it through the surgery which was great because they only gave a 5% chance of that. -They had to drain a hematoma from the skull. -He has an enlarged brain so they could not close his skull back up, they have to wait for swelling to go down. -The next 24 hours is critical, so please keep praying! He did get a fever but they are controlling that. -The promoter has been great getting stuff organized for the family. Lauren and his dad will have a phone line to update people from the hospital. -It has been about 7 hours since the surgery Some family is there already whole others are trying to get emergency passports. Please pray for favor in that situation as well. -They are not even attempting to work on anything else right now, the most important is to get him stabilized. Please do not speculate on comments below. Please just leave well wishes and thoughts for the family. Thank you Also Here's an Artical Translated...From Spanish... -The swelling is going down. Great news! -Next 24 hrs will start weening him off meds to see what the brain activity is like. -Lauren is by his side. -No broken neck or jaw looks like. They will not be able to do a CT scan of spine for a few days. -Will try and get him to states as soon as Jeremy stabilizes. -Keep praying!

***Update 1:40pm 2/8/2009
Ok, more good news. They were able to close his skull, the swelling went down enough! Now it is just a healing process. If they can air-vac him out it will be to Miami with the family, hopefully by end of week.

***Update 5:21pm 2/8/2009
As of right now Jeremy is just resting. It may be a while before we hear an update as they have now been able to close his skull and will await the swelling to go down further. They will then be able to assess any other issues Jeremy may be having. As mentioned there seems to be no breaks in his neck and jaw. Once they stabilize him, a CT scan will be done on his spine. Pray there is no damage there. The family really appreciates everyones prayers and support. It means a lot in times like these.

Was Jeremy Lusk a Hero? ...Yes. no question about it. He used his talent as a Motocross rider to inspire others. He rose to a status were people would listen to him. Jeremy Lusk was approaching the pinnacle of his career and influence. He used his influence to help others make better decisions... and realize we are on this planet to help each other. On 09feb2009 @ 11:03pm PST in a hospital bed in Costa Rica, surrounded by his mother, father, wife and number of his closest friends, freestyle motocross star Jeremy Lusk passed away from injuries he suffered while competing in the X-Knights contest. Jeremy was a tough kid: Tough in demeanor, tough in character, tough as a competitor. He could be intimidating both on and off the ramps, but behind it all, he was a genuine, sincere, and kindhearted kid from San Diego, California. Now he's gone. REST IN PEACE JEREMY LUSK....WE'LL ALL MISS YOU! JUST DO US A FAVORE AND HAVE FUN IN MOTO-HEAVEN!!! (MOTO-HEAVEN) words spoken from Twitch on his utube page.
