I offically become an Idaho resident 3 months ago ---- NOT a SURPRISE to a few of you! I love dirt but I love the snow even more. Last winter I rented the 2008 800 Ski-Doo Rev and loved IT! but hated the XP. (see my 2008 Snowmobing Blog )
Here are a few picture of my newly acquired "Used" 2006 800 Ski -Doo. 2006 was supposedly the best year they made so far. I can hardly wait for it too snow. Besides a new front end, the sled is perfect to go out this year. I know nothing about them except what I've read on line. Yes, looking to upgrade allready. Skiis and shocks. Suggestions greatly appreciated -
Needs a new front end. So far this is what we've Gathered: Last owner put in a new engine. The engine has less than 300 miles. New Clutch, brand not sure yet. Fly Racing High Bars. Can = ??. Plug for heated boots/suit.
Like KawiD says "Love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning" I totally agree!!!.
Below are some of the highlights.

My First Supercross. What a fun time. Here are few pictures, I thought I'd share. If you want to see the entire lot. Here is a 10 min Slide show
Our annual trip to island park, was an adventure this year. We spent more time battling the snow and 2 ski-doos with engine problems, then we actually got to sledding. It snowed ice every day except for the last hour we had of day light, then the sun finally peaked out. Heated goggles would have been a dream to have. Most times our sight visibility was not much more then 5ft , but I did happen to get a few beautiful pictures and this time I wasn't always behind the lens.
Our plan was to ride up on 'Two Top' . A wide open piece of beatufiul land high in the Rockies which sits on the continental divide between Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. We got very close, but had to turn around before we even got to the top. The snow was absolutely too thick to ride any further. Instead we hit the powdered railroad pass, had lunch at Meadow Creek (a burger joint, which you can only eat at if you have a sled to get there with), stopped at Last Chance (snake river) and mostly stayed in the valley ridin the ski-doo 800 XP and REV in deep powder. That is what it is all about! After having ridden Polaris Dragons, on my first snowmobiling trip last year. I will never go back. The ski-doo 800 REV, is so much more maneuverable and I was very impressed with the stock suspension compared to Arctic Cat or Polaris. It was a very sad moment when we had to return the sleds to Island Adventures. Think it's time to get a pair of ski-doo added to the garage this year.

We went to Green Ridge State Forest in Western Maryland this past weekend for some trail riding with friends. Unfortunately, I broke my helmet cam on Saturday. No video to share this time. I did have time to take a few picture, not many. We rode all afternoon, non stop in 3rd wide open. Cost is very reasonable $15 for entire calendar year. It's not challenging at all. The trails were hard packed this weekend, since it hadn't rained in over a week. There are a few baby head sections. Even my friend Jacob who usually rides a 125 had fun on his 85cc. If it does rain, as most of you from this area know.. the Maryland red dirt is like clay and becomes as slick as ice. So if you are looking for something a bit more challenging, come out here after it rains. We totally had a good time.
I would recommend Green Ridge for quads, dirt bikes, off roads trucks/ jeeps, families, kids, novice to intermediate riders. You can also camp, fish, hike, canoe and even go to the shooting range or go hunting. Lucky for us the hunting area was on the other side of the state forest. Far Far Away! We didn't know about the shooting range (5$ for all day). Most definitely going to have to take another weekend trip and do some hunting

It was a good 10 mins - Even the shade was HOT!.
Of course first came Carmichael, then Langston, then Philippaerts, then Ramon, then Nagl .. and so on. All the riders pretended they weren't nervous. But you could smell it in the air - it was stronger then the race gas even the nasty garbage below me. The riders were stretching, hydrating, getting their picture taken. I think I had one of the best views.
As you heard them race violently around the first corner and the crowd going absolutely nuts. I looked down in front of me and almost crashing head first. I climbed as fast as I could down to the ground, before anyone else saw what I saw. Now scroll back up to Picture 1: see the plastic bag RC was carry. In Picture 3 : he threw them on the dirt. I didnt even see these details until I got home and looked at the 400 and so photos I had taken that weekend. Here was my brush with the #1. Now his goggles sit on my desk waiting for the day I can get them autographed. It was a privilege to be able participate -
I will never forget this experience ever.
